We
Protect Your Rights to Privacy
Cornerstone respects your privacy. Our guidelines for
protecting the information you provide us during a visit to
our Web site appear below. Furthermore, Cornerstone is a
registered licensee of TRUSTe. TRUSTe is an independent,
non-profit initiative whose mission is to build users' trust
and confidence in the Internet by promoting the principles
of full disclosure and informed consent. Because we want to
demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we have agreed
to disclose our information practices and to have our
privacy practices reviewed and audited for compliance by
TRUSTe. These include:
- What information we gather
- How we use the information
- With whom we share the information
- How your personal information is used
- Our policy on correcting and updating personally identifiable information
- Our policy on deleting or deactivating your name from our database
What Information We Gather
If you browse Cornerstone's website, you do so
anonymously. We don’t collect personal information —
including your email address unless you voluntarily
submit it to us. We do log your IP address (the
Internet address of your computer) to give us an idea of
which parts of our website you visit and how long you
spend there. But we do not link your IP address to
anything personally identifiable. The only other
information automatically provided to us is the type of
computer and operating system you are using. Your
browser supplies us with this information.
Use of Cookies
Cornerstone may use cookies from time to time. A cookie
is a unique text file that a Web site can send to your
browser software. Cookies enable a Web site to tailor
information presented to you based on your browsing
preferences. If you are a client, we will use cookies to
store information about your user account and any
information related to the web services we provide to
you. If you do not want Cornerstone to deploy cookies in
your browser, you can set your browser to reject cookies
or to notify you when a Web site tries to put a cookie
in your browser software. Our web-based software
Excluded Party Search System (EPSS™) Online Search
Engine requires the use of cookies.
Click-Through
In some of our customer email communication, we may use a
device called a "click-through URL." When you click on one
of these URLs, you pass through our system before arriving
at the website that is your true destination. Cornerstone
uses click-throughs to determine the level of interest in
particular topics and to measure the effectiveness of our
communications. We do not share this data with anyone, and
we make no attempt to match click-throughs to particular
email addresses.
Personal Information
At times we may request that you
voluntarily supply
us with personal information, such as your email address and
postal address, for purposes such as corresponding with us,
registering for a 30-day free trial account at our site,
maintaining user accounts, registering a new user, or
participating in an online survey. When you sign up for
web-based services with Cornerstone, for example, we collect
your organization name, address, phone number, organization
web site address, contact name, title, phone and fax
numbers, and email addresses. When you create User IDs for
the web-based services, you are required to provide the
user's e-mail address so that it can be used in retrieving
the user's password if it is lost or forgotten.
Use of Your E-mail Address
We will not sell, rent, or lease your personally
identifiable information such as your name, e-mail address,
account, password, or usage history to others. If you
request technical support online, we will ask you for
information necessary to complete the transaction — such as
your name, e-mail address, phone number, organization,
version of the software you are using, and the nature of the
problem you are experiencing.
Notification of Changes
If we change our privacy policy, we will post a notice on
our site so our users are aware of the change in what
information we collect, how we use it, and/or under what
circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we
decide to use personally identifiable information in a
manner different from that stated at the time it was
collected, we will notify users by e-mail. Users will have
a choice as to whether or not we use their previously
submitted information in this different manner. Users may
choose to have their information used in accordance with the
privacy policy under which the information was collected.
